A part-time designer

The purpose of my life is to bring up my son: see him going to school, graduating from the university, getting his first job.... So I give him the best I have. The place where we live doesn’t look chic, still I try to make it as comfortable as possible. For example, the design of Danny’s bedroom was all my idea:

·         The furniture is of a neutral color, while the carpet and the curtains are bright green.

·         There’s a big white chandelier in the room and two floor lamps on both sides of the bed.

·         The pictures of his favorite character Peter Pan are everywhere: on the walls and even on the ceiling. Danny likes to imagine how Peter takes him to Neverland and teaches him how to fly.

Every parent should sacrifice some time to see the happy eyes of his child!

Was it a destiny?

As I can’t afford buying expensive things, I purchase them on art online auction sites. Painters offer their customers to have a canvas at a lower price, and I think it’s a great solution for people who don’t have enough money but have a desire to decorate their house. An art online auction gives a chance not only to a customer who can buy a picture in any part of the world. In theory, it helps the author to promote their work in every city connected to the web. And Portland is no exception.

Once, as I was surfing the net during my lunch break, I found a painting that made my day. It was a still life by Leonid Afremov depicting a bouquet of yellow flowers. I thought how nice would it be to get one. And the same evening a stranger came up to me and held me out a bunch of wonderful yellow roses. We’re dating now. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I bought the canvas anyway.

Since then I’ve been visiting Mr. Afremov’s website every day. It’s always interesting to look at his new works of art. Online access to the artist’s gallery allows me to do it anytime. It’s difficult to choose the best painting because they’re all magnificent! The artist’s autumn landscapes seem to be singing a lullaby – they are so tender and delicate. And his rainy cityscapes won’t cast you into gloom – they are filled with colorful lights and romantic mood!

Nowadays it’s popular to sell art online. Auction prices won’t hit you in the pocket and there is a really wide choice of works to consider. If you are fond of art yet conscious of your budget, you should definitely try buying it over the web!
